night to be clawed

City Place

City Place

Decided to go to city place last night, walk around and take some pictures and so I did. There was a band playing music and a lot of people which made it great. The parking garage was packed and when I was going in I saw the line of cars trying to get out. I figured it would be better when I was leaving but it wasn’t. Still I had fun walking around taking my pictures. I got some good shots which I will include in this post. Of course I had a smoothie from the smoothie king with my request of not including the protein in the drink, I had pineapple surf or pineapple plus. I forgot the name.

The most interesting incident of the night was perhaps me being clawed. That’s right I got clawed. While I was walking a group of 4 girls was walking towards me. They were split in twos and one of the girls in the closer two glanced over at me, rushed back to one of the girls in the second two and told her something, turned her back to me pointing me out to her friend and then dashed at me and grabbed my arm. She then asks me if I can take their picture. I am holding my big camera strapped around my neck and I respond in a wtf tone with “with my camera???”. At which I get that cute extended “nooooooooo” and I am offered one of their point and shoot cameras with no view finder, rather a large LCD. I bring up the camera to my face before realizing I don’t have a choice but to use the LCD to take the shot. I took a single shot of them, and I will never know if it really came out good or not. I got thanked by one girl and then I believe the one that grabbed me said “thank you very much” smiling at me, eating me up with her eyes.

I said it was no problem and walked off. It was then that I realized she had actually dug her nails into me when she grabbed me. Like she was afraid of me getting away, which I can understand how would want me to slip away from their fingers :D . With that in mind, while her behavior was inappropriate, it was also harmless. She didn’t intentionally claw me, that was all out of her hands … erm well at least out of her control.

Here are a few shots.

girl at movie theater

Mahmoud

Today I spoke with a cashier at the food stand at the muvico movie theater. It was mostly ordering, but I asked her name because her tag was flipped. And I tried to convince her to give me her name tag with the movie theater name on it and all. We went back and forth, she said she was sorry she really can’t. I told her you work there, you can get another. She tells me well I have two! And I tell her there you go and she continues she really can’t. I tell her she can’t say no to me, she says I know cause you are a customer, and I tell her no cause I am good looking. She laughs.

I don’t know what it was about her, but she was an interesting girl. After the movie, she smiled, still refused to give me the tag, and asked me how the movie was. I simply said it was good. I don’t know why it wasn’t taken further than that. Clearly there was flirting from both of us, but I didn’t take the next step. I don’t know, she could of made a good friend at least. And maybe got free movie tickets! I need to push things. Create an opportunity out of every situation. I can’t wait for things to happen, I must make things happen.

This reminds me of the time I tried convincing a hijabi girl that worked at finish line to give me a finish line shirt. I had gotten chinese food at the Boynton Beach mall and sat down to eat. Moments later a girl walks by my table, squeezes herself between my table and the next almost as if she was trying to get my attention. I think it worked. I soon noticed it was the hijabi girl from finish line I had seen before. She had a plate of the same food as me.

I finished up my food and decided to talk to her. She was just one table behind two girls sitting next to me. I said hey to her and asked how I can get the shirt she has on as she looked up at me. It was a nice navy blue shirt with the finish line logo on it. Pretty simple really but I liked it. She responds you have to work there. So I tell her she has to get me one. She says she can’t. So I just throw out a “Are you stalking me?” at her. She looks confused and/or maybe embarrassed. I tell her you got the same food as me and I went back to the shirt. I say just get me a large one. She laughs and says I should ask them at the store. I tell her I am asking YOU. She at some point tells me she can’t understand why I even want the shirt. I tell her I like it and she responds that she works there (at finish line) and doesn’t like wearing it. Go figure.

parakeet on my shoulder

Mahmoud
Parakeet on shoulder

Get off my shoulder

I finally got the blue parakeet to get on my finger, hand, arm, and shoulder! He still panics and gets scared of stuff, but he was just fine hanging out on me. He even walked around the back of my neck to the other shoulder. He got to spend a long day out of the cage today in the large screened patio.

The green one, well she still doesn’t get on my finger. She only steps on it to move away sometimes, and she only once got on my finger but didn’t stay long. She can fly well so she doesn’t need my help to get back up to the cage, as the blue one currently does. But she will come around. She is a female after all, so typical.

And I am so glad the parakeet didn’t poop on my shoulder for his first time being there.

friday night at city place

Mahmoud

I didn’t get to see Watchmen today at the IMAX. So just to do something I went to city place by myself.

City Place

City Place

I walked around, they had a band performing some old songs. I am guessing 80′s songs. So I had some good pistachio and strawberry icecream. Walked around some more, there was someone walking a huge dog which everyone seemed to like but atleast the dog was well behaved. Then I had a tuna salad sandwich at panera bread on honey wheat bread. Good sandwich and it came with a bag of highly fattening potato chips. Walked around some more … and that was pretty much it, but it was a nice night and it was something different for a change.

There was a bar on the upper level that had on arabic music and they had atleast two belly dancers going around from table to table, dancing and collecting the dollars. Inside they had another dancer and customers dancing on a table. Not sure what to say about all that … but I think one of the belly dancers was indian.

When I was leaving panera bread, a girl with her two friends opened the door to go in just as I was going out. So NATURALLY I walked through when she opened the door for ME. She didn’t seem very pleased with that, I think she muttered something about manners but I didn’t care to listen. She thinks because she has breasts, I am supposed to wait for her and her two friends to walk in. Logic says I don’t wait for three people, three people can wait for me.

just another sunday :)

Deerfield Beach

Deerfield Beach

Long entertaining day. Deerfield Beach, went swimming. Have not done that in a while. I did seem to miss a spot on my back with the sun block so it is burning a little right now. Weather was beautiful this weekend. A lot of people on the beach, plus there was some founder’s event thing, no idea what it was, didn’t care but it was more reason for people to go. Perhaps in my lack of trips to the beach in the past year, a trend grew fast and I wasn’t so much aware of it’s growth. It seems that almost every female on the beach is now wearing a thong, with some “upgraded” to a g-string. What ever happened to family friendly beaches? I know, girls compete with each other and when one does something, the second follows suit. The mentality is exposing yourself solo is bad, but if your friend does it too or if you do it together, it is ok. There is a time and place for everything, let’s keep the beaches family friendly. This is without mentioning the topless beach goers.

Beach was a good start to the day, had fun in the water and on the sand. But a nice wave hit me right in the eye and took out one of my contact lenses. Probably because I was looking at all those girls in thongs and g-strings. But hey being at the beach with my current weight feels much better than being at the beach last year or the past 4-5 years and those girls were probably looking at me too.

I also saw Batman: Dark Knight at the IMAX finally. I have been trying to go see it for the past few weeks. Great movie. Heath Ledger did an excellent job as the joker. Movie is two and a half hours long, but looked very nice on the imax screen. Why so serious??? :)

a random Saturday

Mahmoud

A random weekend Saturday, which I will sum up with just phrases. Don’t expect this to make any sense. No explanations. No details. Just incomplete sentences. Perhaps I will know what these phrases mean a year from now, perhaps not. They may or may not trigger a memory of today, but that doesn’t matter now. So here they are:

  • cow stomach linings
  • town center fives and nines
  • Las Olas and Las O Not
  • 24 hour dunkin donuts

And some memories that came up today. Some fun, some good, some eh. Phrases from these memories:

  • Double Tree
  • Hooters Pass Thru
  • A1A Beach Leak
  • Lost Lucky at a Gas Station
  • Mohsen Weekend
